How do medication prices work in Denmark?
Prescription medicine has one official pharmacy price that is the same at every Danish pharmacy and registered online pharmacy, set for 14 days at a time.
The current price period runs from 28 September to 11 October 2026, and the next one starts on 12 October 2026. The pharmacy adds a prescription fee of DKK 10 for each prescription line it dispenses; all prices on this page include it, so they match what you pay at the counter.
Because the price is the same everywhere, there is no point in shopping around between pharmacies or towns. Only a delivery fee from an online pharmacy can differ. The pharmacy offers the cheapest pack in the same substitution group as a starting point, unless the doctor has ruled it out on the prescription.

How much do Wegovy, Mounjaro and other weight loss medicines cost in Denmark?
Wegovy costs DKK 1,284.25 to 2,296.55 per pen, Mounjaro DKK 1,579.65 to 3,845.60 per pen, and one pen lasts 4 weeks.

The Wegovy pill works out at DKK 2,648.99 to 3,618.44 per 4 weeks at one tablet a day; so far only parallel-imported packs are listed, and the 25 mg strength is not. Saxenda is a daily injection and costs about DKK 2,308.68 per 4 weeks on the full dose of 3 mg a day, against about DKK 1,028.30 for the liraglutide copy. How much does Ozempic cost in Denmark?
Ozempic costs DKK 855.80 per pen for 0.25, 0.5 and 1 mg and DKK 2,008.85 for 2 mg in the price period 28 September to 11 October 2026.
The 1 mg pen with 8 doses costs DKK 1,689.75. Ozempic contains the same substance as Wegovy (semaglutide) in lower doses and is approved for type 2 diabetes, not for weight loss. Ozempic can be subsidised for type 2 diabetes, but not for weight loss. Recepta does not prescribe Ozempic for weight loss.
How much do Viagra, sildenafil, Cialis and tadalafil cost in Denmark?
Generic sildenafil costs from DKK 34.30 for 12 tablets of 50 mg (DKK 2.86 per tablet), against DKK 1,292.85 for 12 original Viagra tablets of 50 mg.

How much does finasteride for hair loss cost in Denmark?
Finasteride 1 mg for hair loss costs from DKK 124.10 for 30 tablets, about DKK 115.83 per 4 weeks at one tablet a day.
Finasteride 1 mg is the substance in Propecia and is only for men. It needs a prescription like the other medicines on this page.
Is there a subsidy for these medicines in Denmark?
No, there is no general subsidy for medicines for weight loss, erectile dysfunction or hair loss in Denmark, so you pay the full pharmacy price.
This applies whether your prescription comes from your own GP or from an online clinic. Ozempic can be subsidised for type 2 diabetes, but not for weight loss.
What does the doctor cost on top of the medicine?
At Recepta the consultation is free and the first 4 weeks cost DKK 0; after that the programme costs DKK 138 per 4 weeks for weight loss and DKK 104 per 4 weeks for erectile dysfunction with a 1-year membership.
